Why is it so hard for the above commentators to just say, 'well done!' Can't we just appreciate that a Sri Lankan born individual (one of many) is doing well in an area that millions fail to break into?

I think maybe all of you should listen to the music before you start the ranting. This article is about a young talent and not about your political thinking (to which I might add needs a lot more thought!).

I just received this article. I was humbled and so grateful that God has opened up so many doors in the music industry for myself and the label.
But then I read the hatred through the comments by several people. This broke my heart. This is not the reason why I do music. I do not champion any political cause. The only thing I have to offer is music that speaks to your soul..whether you are Tamil or Sinhalese. I know we all have personal struggles and stories to share, and that both sides have been hurt significantly in the process.

There is hope....let's all try and represent this hope to the best of our abilities. Yes..I am Tamil. But I love the Sinhalese people like my own. And any Tamil that does not is committing an injustice..likewise, any Sinhalese person that does not embrace the Tamil people are committing a similar injustice... No one is superior to anyone else. We are all God's children. Can we please start acting like it? You can take this comment as an ignorant Tamil boy who fled to the United States because of the civil war...or you can allow the God of peace to search your hearts and help you find peace in your own hearts, before trying to reconcile a war-torn island.

In love

Rajeev (G-Vo)

Mr Fernando, Did you go to school and study about other countries? There is nothing wrong in an ethnic minority like Tamils seeking to protect its culture, language, educatin and safety by asking for separate state or autonomous state. It is especially significant given the history of repeated beatings, burnings, lootings and killings of this minority group by the majority,Sinhalese over the years spanning from I956 to 1977. Further, over a million Tamils were disenfranchised. This has no precedence in history of the world. It is such an uncivilized act by your Sinhalese brothers. Now why do you want us to live with you in a "united" Srilanka? To beat us more?. See the examples of Israel,Kosovo,East Timor then you will understand
