Israel’s situation is far different to Sri Lanka. Making the comparison is a fool’s errand. Israel attacked Lebanon to Destroy Hezbollah, they thought they could do it in 30 days, they failed and miscalculated.

The GoSL will do the same as the East. they will gut out the LTTE infrastructure then empower the Local people to root out the remaining LTTE activists themselves.

Forget about tiger strong bullshit. Tigers are on the run. They go infighting. Velu nona is petrified to attend public meetings. LRRP is lerking around waiting for Velu nona to come out of the underground in the day time and attend a public meeting. You tiger cubs also admitted current war of attrition hurting tigers greatly.

Mr Fernando, and the rest who expect the GOSL to win pl take the time to read the official Isreali report on thier war with the Hesbullah last summer Their army is one of the finest and their Air force is one of the best in the world could not fight against 2000 Hesbullah soldiers last month The Sri Lankan army is no where close to the Isreali army nor thier air force and the Hesbullah is no where close to the Tigers now please take a few seconds to think about what I said not in this generation the GOSL is going to defeat the LTTE

It’s sad to see still many war mongers amoung Sri Lankans specially expatriates. I wonder those war mongers ever wanted to send their children to the war front? What we are bargaining here is the lives of poorest segment amoung SL population with no voice.

What LTTE has done is wiped out entire generation of Tamils and made them ‘overseas’ forever. Poorest of them became cannon fodder for their thirst for power. The successive GOSL ’s made SL as one of the failed states. So both sides has done their part to make this war transferd to next generation.
Comments #2, #12 and #16 are some of the examples where Sri Lankans(probable Expatriates) lost their respect for life to whom suffer from this protracted war. For them war in Sri Lanka like a Cricket Match which runs commented as ‘lifes’ on both sides.
I feel really shame to idetify me as Sri Lankan when we keep war mongering and keep this menace going on.
