I may be naive, but shouldn't Mr. Bob Rae or Canadian Government also must bring this issue to the attention of US State department or the US President, because the Defence Secretary of GOSL is a Citizen of US, unless US has certain leeway for the defence secretary agreed upon during Bush Administration time ?

Three Brothers and an Army running the country, thats what we get after making so much sacrifice and defeating the LTTE. Maybe the celebrations were misplaced after all. Instead of one dictator lording over part of the country we now have three or four. Instead of repression of the Tamils now everyone is under the barrel of the gun. Those who fought for independence from the British Colonial rulers must be turning in their graves.Not only have we sacrificed our independence we are paying through our noses for doing so.

The Rajapakasa brother's Srilankan government is dancing on its head over its victory over the Tamils. The west which accused the LTTE for not going for a federal solution, helped the Lankan governement to defeat the Tigers. It is an irony that Bob rae who was so much against the tigers has to be branded a Tiger supporter and deported from Srilanka. Bob Rae would have thought that the Tigers being wiped out he could have put forward his pet project the federalism as a solution in Sri lanka. At least by now he should realise why Tamils have been telling him and the West for such a long time that Sinhala Buddhist Srilanka will never devolve political power to the Tamils and only a two state solution like Kosovo is the answer for this. Will the West come to its sence now?
