Mangala's antics to show Fonseka shaking hands with CBK is THE most ill-advised strategy.
CBKs hatred towards Mahinda was long known.
She had some respect for keeping her mouth shut though.
However, the expression of support to Fonseka just a day before the 26th election is bound to earn the flak of both divides(UNP/SLFP). Floating voters, old UNPers who fell victims under her oppressive rule and many honorable citizens will now go against Fonseka.
Madam,
It appears that even you were afraid to exercise your democratic right of freedom of expression upto now because of the thug attitude of the present regime.
Do you realise how it is for a common man?
Do you realise as to what type of war criminal you left in power?
A commendable decision albeit a little late as usual.
Dear readers.
It is so nice to here some words from Mrs.Kumarathunga.She has done a good job to our country. But today she has been criticized badly by the recent politicians. This is the real practice. No body will talk the good among these culprits because they work hard to civilians 24 hours. But the people are begging for living. Those are not main targets to them. The main targets are to build Bridges,Carpeting roads, signing for new contracts. Why?To rebuild our country. Is it funny?
You are the most corrupted person ever became a President of our country after Queen Anula. It is pity that during your tenure you couldn't do this "tremendous change" to your country.
'Quagmire of hatred, intolerance, inequality, lies, corruption, nepotism and bad goernance etc... these words equal to you.The AirLanka deal to Emirates,The Steel Corp. deal to Koreans,The buying train engines from France..are the few examples of your good goernance. It is stinking. With your buddy Mangala you better go to hell you shameless .....
Madam,
Some missiong links of the puzzle of Fonseka campaign is now completed. As the editorial of The Island today reveals Fonseka can now not say that he will be there to erradicate corruption, fraud, etc etc as you have clearly manifested in your two terms as the head of the State how efficiently you handled those issues!
Mangala has been shrewed. He did not get Fonseka to meet with you at the very beginning of SF campaign. Had he done that SF would have lost a few hundred thousand votes! Good of Mangala he did this at the eleventh hour!
The other significance of your entry into SF campaign is the class structure that prevails in these two camps. It is no secret that Colombo elite, English speaking intelligentia, business community do not tolerate MR and his regime. MR became President due to his sheer will and courage facing unimaginable odds. This rough non English speaking man who prefers Sarong to suit is not the choice of Sri Lankan elite. So they have now under SF come forward to unseat an "uncivilised man". Just as they did try to send Premadasa home, unsuccessfuly.Such is the arrognace of this class.
Hillariuos enough, you are asking SF government to implement or adhere to Bandaranaike policies! What is the relevance of this today? Haven't so called policies pathetically failed? Hasn't those policies contributed to a brutal civil war in this country? Hasn't that language policy created a few generations who could not reach knowledge evolving in outside world due to poor knowledge of English? Come on CBK! Your father created a system that benefited only you and same kind of people, not us.
It is quite strange to see the JVP has come into this fray without knowing or having knowledge to understand possible repercussion in the event if SF get elected. As DBS very correctly explains elsewhere the Sri Lankan State is facing a change, whoever wins, which will cause irreparable damage in its very existence. JVP does not understand this. After all they are a group who still think that there is Socialism in China!
So, where we are heading? Nowhere, I think. MR should have been magnanimous after the end of the LTTE. He should have started a real nation building exercise getting all stakeholders involved. But he did not understood the gravity of the problems that he would be facing. Now he might have to pay the ultimate prize!
In the end as usual ordinary poor will suffer. The JVP will be kicked out in due course. In fact they will have to make their exit as they will son find that they are with wrong people at wrong time! Tamils, Muslims will continue to suffer. Even under an utter chaos in the future the likes of CBK, Ranil etc will jolly well survive.
God bless our country!
Dear Madam President,
Justice,freedom and human dignity?
Quagmire of hatred, intolerance and bad governance?
Who was behind the assassination of the only son of G.G.Ponnampalam Q.C?
Any idea Madam President?
Kind Regards,
Siva.
